The Centro d´ Artes emerged from the rehabilitation of the space where the Home of the 3rdª age of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Aljustrel operated for years, a historic building that originally housed the administration of the Belgian company that explored the Aljustrel mine. The infrastructure has three floors, each with its specific valencies. Floor 0, which also hosts the NAVA - Visual Arts Centre of Aljustrel, has a space for temporary exhibitions, which consists of three contiguous areas, and a studio area, with three divisions for the development of activities related to the plastic arts and, more increasingly, with rapid prototyping, with 3D printers, laser cutting and vinyl.

In the backyard, in an annex, there is a space for sculpture workshops. Floor 1 receives the so-called Artists' Residence, where people from various origins can stay overnight while developing their artistic projects in the studios. The floor has nine rooms, with capacity to accommodate 32 people. There is also a living room and a room with a kitchenette for support.
